Similar to almost every singer in the music game. Rihanna has her eyes set on hitting the big screen soon! *shocked* then *roll eyes* Media outlets are reporting that Rihanna will be featured in an upcoming movie project called 'Mama Black widow'.So far all I know of this movie is that is a 'story of a black family’s migration from the South in the 1930s. The film, currently in pre-production, is said to co-star Kerry Washington, Mos Def and Macy Gray.' Although we all know that Rihanna can't sing if her life depended on it have multiple talents. She admittted to her somewhat acting doubts and says: I don’t know how good I’ll be at it, but it’s something that I want to try [source]

Since I knew nothing about this flick, I took the liberty of doing some researches just for you good people. 'Seven Pounds' will be out in theaters December 12th 2008 but that can be change based on production. The movie is an emotional story of a man who will change the lives of seven strangers. Seven Pounds is directed by Gabriele Muccino. Will Smith who is the main character will be playing the role of a suicidal, guilt-ridden man who attempts to make amends for his past. Another well-known actress that will also take part in this project is Rosario Dawson. I'm afraid I can't continue, because I might ruin it for some people.

Denzel,coming to a theater near you again

published by Angella at 12/10/2007 04:02:00 PM

2007-12-10

After hitting us up with American Ganster last month, Mr.Denzel Washington is coming back with another flick in which he will act and direct! Damn Denzel you get no sleep hunh? poor Paula. Moving right along "The Debaters" is a film "Based on a true story, the film follows a Wiley College professor, played by Denzel, who inspires the school's first debate team to a national championship in 1935". That sound interesting enough for me to go see it. Who I am kidding?! I have not even seen American Ganster. I'm telling you people, a sister is almost broke for the holidays. The list is quite long!
It's becoming the season of Denzel Washington. After wowing audiences in gang banger American Gangster last month, the double Oscar winner returns Christmas Day with The Great Debaters with a double role — as actor and director. The flick marks Denzel's second directorial feature — after 2002's Antwone Fisher — and working behind the camera is only getting better for him. "I got a new life behind the camera," he tells OK! at the movie's press junket. "I feel like I’m starting over. I have a greater appreciation of what a director does. It’s not just cut and press junket. It’s a little bit more than that." Based on a true story, the film follows a Wiley College professor, played by Denzel, who inspires the school's first debate team to a national championship in 1935. The actor says he himself wouldn't get into an exchange of words because "talk is cheap." A do-er, Denzel says he's always tried to teach his kids that actions speak louder than words. "I’d like to see them express their opinions, believe in themselves and study hard but I haven’t encouraged them to be debaters," he says. "I’ve always taught them ‘Do what you gotta do so you can do what you want to do.’ They grew up with that. I’ve always instilled that in them. It’s a lesson for life." As for all the award buzz surrounding his two cinematic endeavors, the 52-year-old isn't thinking too much about Oscar gold. "It’s just great to get the opportunity to get good roles. Good roles are hard to come by."[SOURCE]

Will Smitt's daughter is another Paris Hilton!

published by Angella at 12/05/2007 03:10:00 PM

2007-12-05

I know...I know the titled grabbed my attention also. Will Smith was actually explaining in a recent interview with People mag, about how his daughter Willow is Paris Hilton meaning that she "wants to be on TV." Smith's upcoming action packed I am Legend coming on Dec.14th features the 7 year old . I am not quite sure what her part will be in this movie, but her father mentionned how she is a very driven little girl and quoting "Willow was out there and she has her stuff on and she's cold and she's getting a little irritable. And she looks at me and says, "Daddy, I don't care how low it goes. I'm going to finish." LOL! seems like a nice little girl,but from reading this brief article I think she want to be compete with her brother Jaden who blew a lot of us away in his screen debut last year on "The Pursuit of Happyness" Let's see is Willow will do the same shall we folks!

Wendy Williams coming to a theater near you

I'm sure you all basically know about Wendy Williams 's upcoming movie. "Queen of media:The Wendy Williams story" will arrive in theaters in 2008. Actress Robin Givens will be playing Wendy on the big screen, which is something I want to see by the way.Then again, what can possibly be interesting enough for me to pay my well earned cash and watch Wendy Williams's life. *still thinking* Anyways,check out a brief info on this upcoming flick after the cut.

For most people divorce, multiple miscarriages, infidelity, insecurity, rape and a penchant for controversy would be a career detriment, but for nationally-known, top-rated D.J. Wendy Williams they only served to make her stronger – and more determined to succeed in an industry stacked against women, especially African-American ones. From her early days as a child fighting a weight problem to her later ones overcoming personal and career adversity, the QUEEN OF MEDIA is an honest telling of the life story of Wendy Williams as she struggles against bad choices, hard luck and always being an outsider; a born rebel who is constantly at odds with anyone who wants to tone her down, reel her in or lead her on, be they bosses, boyfriends or family. Ultimately QUEEN OF MEDIA is an inspirational tale of how self-realization and redemption helped her overcome her inner-demons, and how her determination to "keep it real" eventually brought her happiness and success.[SOURCE]

spotted at ahotmess:

I am completely appalled! It seems as if Jennifer Lopez's new movie 'BorderTown" quality marketing macthes her album. I did not even know JLO had a new movie coming out, well not anymore. It appears that this movie has been sent straight to DVD, without it even hitting theaters. The reason for this mess is that the film was "booed at the Berlin International Film Festival" so the people in charge are playing it safe. Ouch! First her album, now this?

Denzel Washington Covers Vogue Magazine!

Actor Denzel Washington gracing the November issue of Vogue Magazine. I swear that man stay sexy! *smile to self* The cover story Killer Instinct can be read after the cut and more. You can also cacth a couple snaps of Denzel and others at the recent NYC American Ganster preimiere in our previous posts. I am really anxious to see this movie

Bunting today," Denzel Washington groans theatrically. "We been buntin'." The afternoon is grinding to a close on the Sony Studios lot in Los Angeles, and Washington hasn't made any grand advances in editing The Great Debaters, a 1930s period piece that marks his second effort behind the camera and the follow-up to 2002's widely admired Antwone Fisher. Instead, he's spent eight hours slogging away in a beige, windowless room littered with spent water bottles and a sad plate of muffins. Dressed in dad-casual workout clothes, the 52-year-old star swivels contemplatively in an office chair, folded in on himself—legs crossed, right arm barred across the body, left hand absently worrying his chewing gum—absorbed by his work in progress. Seeing him like this presents a Hollywood kind of paradox. One of the prime pleasures of watching Washington over the past two decades—the years since his breakout performance as the antiapartheid activist Stephen Biko in 1987's Cry Freedom and his Oscar-winning turn in Glory—has been marveling at his self-possession. The key to his superstardom, more important than his exactitude or his send-the-ladies-swooning looks, is his restraint in revealing only the subtlest shades of what's on his characters' minds. So it's an odd sensation to watch him in that familiar situation—lost in thought—but with his charm on pause. He almost appears to be a regular guy. {READ MORE}
