Singer Jill Scott has an upcoming movie in the making. According to credible sources 'The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency' is set for release in 2008. The movie is directed by Anthony Minghella and Scott will be playing the role of Precious Ramotswe. Read a quick info on this movie courtesy of Chocolatewithchips below:
This movie is a comedy/drama/mystery about a Botswanan woman (played by Jill Scott) who starts up the country's first female-owned detective agency. Based on the novel by Alexander McCall Smith. The Cast includes: Jill Scott, Anika Noni Rose ( played Lorrell Robinson in the movie "DreamGirls"), Idris Elba, John Kani, Desmond Dube, Lucian Msamati, David Oyelowo, Colin Salmon, and Nikki Amuka Bird.

I just watched this film. And Im in England :D
The whole family watched it and enjoyed it very much. Its good to see such interesting films about the black African culture being shown on the BBC, so everyone with or without extra channels can see.
I have read the books and although the film missed out quite a chunk it was a brilliant evening in with my family :)
