Angella: My name is Angella Brick&Lace: Hey Angella!
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Angella: (laughs) How did you ladies meet each other? Brick&Lace: We're two sisters from Kingston Jamaica, yeah Angella: Since when did you guys wanted to become singers? Brick&Lace: uum... I think we wanted to persue it seriuosly about 5 years ago. Angella: five years ago? Brick&Lace:Cauz we've always been singing Angella: O Brick&Lace:We grew up singing. We singed in the church, singing in Jamaica back home. Being part of the dance hall scene and everything. I think it was five years ago, was when we really started to give it a 100%. And you know we just decided this is what we definelty wanted to do. Angella: You guys have lovely voice by the way... Brick&Lace: Thank you! (in unison) Angella: (laughs softly) You're welcome! Angella: If you guys were not singing right now. Is there any other goals, life ambitions that you guys would want to persue? Brick&Lace: uuumm. I don't think so. We've always known we wanted to do music. We grew up in a musical family. So it was a big part of who were. Who we are now! you know. I think outside of being an artists, was well to write songs Brick&Lace: We've been writing songs! like other artist. That's something that we love to do Angella: Oh! so you guys wrote songs on the albumn? Brick&Lace: excuse me Angella: any songs that were written on the album by the both you? Brick&Lace: Yes! for the most part, we wrote I guess some the songs. You can say yes. Writing is definitely a big part of who we are. Not only for ourselves, but for other people as well, you know. It's defintely and exscape for us. To go in the studio, you know. We have a different accent, and trying to you know bring out what we want to say on a record.
Angella:OK Brick&Lace: So writing is definelty a fun part in the journey. It goes with the fame and performing records. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Angella: That's good..How did you guys get in with Akon? I mean I'm not sure of the details and all Brick&Lace: Well we got with Akon. Geffen thought Akon would be a good fit. We were actually tried to Geffen Universal first. They heard our show and they were like you guys should link up with Akon. Because musically I think the chemistry would be crazy! They were correct, because Akon just got right off the back. He called himself a member of the group (laughs) .. He was like I'm takin' y'all's project. (laughs). You know, and he just like wanted to become a musical part in the Brick&Lace sound out there. Angella: Yeah. so when is the albumn coming out? Brick&Lace: In the summer Angella: In the summer...like an exact date (chuckels) Brick&Lace: well, we don't have an exact date, you know. It just depends on how it's picking up, depending on the awareness of the Brick&Lace sound. So they're thinking in the summer. Angella: Who makes apperances on the albumn? Like producers and such. Brick&Lace: uumm. We have a song named .... featuring a Jamiancan artist raised in New York. His name is Bol ,and on the remix to "NEVER,NEVER" with baby Cham Angella: hunh hunh! Brick&Lace: For the most part it's basically us. We didn't want to throw artist on to just get publicity. The tracks we started on our own.So that is what we decided to do.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Angella: Ok, so any special messages to the fans out here in Beantown? Brick&Lace: Oh Boy! Just look out for Brick&Lace.
